Muskeg Lake Cree Nation is grateful for the many partnerships and connections with organizations and funding bodies that nurture both community and economic development. By building bridges with businesses, government agencies and First Nations organizations, we are able to enrich community life and build opportunities for our members.
Guided by the Cree Nation’s commitment to unity, balance and integrity, Muskeg Lake seeks to create and develop mutually beneficial partnerships that serve the community, its businesses and economic partners.
We have created partnerships with established leaders like Petro Canada and Saskatoon Tribal Council (STC) to build opportunities for community members. We also partner with government organizations, such as Health Canada, to deliver better services and programming to community members.
Muskeg Lake has three major investment corporations, each with its own management: Muskeg Property Management, CreeWay Gas and Pitihkwakew Lake. Each corporation is a viable and well-supported business enterprise run by community members.
In addition to internal and external partnerships that contribute to economic development within the community, Muskeg Lake Cree Nation is also one of four business partners invested in the Dakota Dunes Golf Links, located south of Saskatoon on Highway 219.
The following agencies and organizations provide funding to the community:
Aboriginal Affairs & Northern Development Canada (AANDC)
First Nations Trust
Treaty Land Entitlement Trust (TLE)
The Saskatoon Tribal Council (STC) is a full partner with Muskeg Lake through its holdings, Cattail and Jackpine, and as a 1/7th owner of Dakota Dunes Casino.
