Job Summary Muskeg Lake Cree Nation team is seeking to fill our Executive Assistant position. This position is responsible for completing a broad variety of administrative tasks for the Chief and Council and Director of Operations.

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Organize and manage the Chiefs calendars and event schedules
  • Review all Correspondence and ensure timely delivery to Chief and Council
  • Arrange travel and booking details ensuring the most cost effective and efficient travel times are utilized
  • Managing and maintaining a comprehensive filing system
  • Liaising with external clients, and members of the public and community members
  • Organizing meetings, events, interviews, and appointments
  • Preparing agendas, transcribing and taking meeting minutes
  • Typing correspondence, and business reports
  • Preparing documents and presentations
  • Screening letters, emails, and phone calls and responding to them on behalf of the Chief and the Director of Operations
  • Preparing expense reports and purchase orders

 

Qualifications:

  • At least 5 years of experience working as an Executive Assistance
  • Completion of a recognized secretarial or office management course is desired
  • Excellent written and verbal skills
  • Highly organized
  • Advanced Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint skills
  • Valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle & cell phone
  • Criminal Record Check (CPIC) and a Vulnerable Sector is required
  • Working knowledge of Cree language customs, traditions, and values is an asset
