Manager of Housing

The Muskeg lake Cree Nation is a dynamic, progressive First Nation located about 100km’s north of Saskatoon. Our
on-reserve membership is approximately 450 community members.
The Manager of Housing is in charge of all housing on Muskeg Lake Cree Nation and is responsible for the day to day
operations of the Muskeg Lake Cree Nation Housing Program. The Manager of Housing is the supervisor for all housing staff
and contractors. In the course of carrying out the above duties, the Housing Manager is required to develop priorities,
budgets, follow- up budgets and report as to where the Housing Program is at in relation to the priorities and budgets.
Skills and abilities:
1. Ability to organize, motivate, delegate, supervise an co-ordinate personnel;
2. Ability to formulate and administer programs with budget’s;
3. Excellent computer skills
4. Ability to read and understand financial reports
5. Experience in housing construction, maintenance & management
6. Demonstrate sound judgement, analytical and decision- making skills
7. Excellent written and communications skills
8. Knowledge and understanding of the tendering process and requirements
9. Knowledge and understanding of INAC and CMHC funding
10. Knowledge and understandings of all of First Nations funding programs and reporting requirements
11. Knowledge and experience with the implementation of the various housing programs available to First Nation
12. Knowledge and understanding of current building codes
13. Ability to work under pressure and adhere to deadlines and commitments
14. Understand the roles and responsibilities of the Housing Committee
1. A degree or certificate from a recognized educational institution in business, administration, management,
community planning, and construction;
2. 5+ years of administrative and construction industry experience;
3. Possess and maintain a Valid Saskatchewan Driver’s License
4. Current CPIC and Vulnerable Sector Check to be completed & submitted with application
5. Ability to speak or understand Cree is an asset;
6. Working experience with First Nation people with an understanding of the particular issue encountered by First
Nation people.
