Muskeg Lake Cree Nation is seeking a reliable, responsible, and safety-minded individual to join our Public Works team as a Solid Waste Transfer Station Attendant.
The Solid Waste Transfer Station Attendant is responsible for the safe, efficient, and environmentally responsible operation of the Transfer Station. This position works directly with community members to support proper waste disposal and recycling practices while maintaining a clean, organized, and safe facility.

Duties:
· Open and close the Transfer Station according to established operating hours.
· Monitor vehicles entering and exiting the site.
· Direct residents to appropriate disposal and recycling areas.
· Ensure waste is placed in designated locations.
· Inspect incoming loads and identify prohibited or hazardous materials.
· Assist with sorting approved recyclable materials, including cardboard, metals, electronics, tires, batteries, appliances, and other materials.
· Monitor transfer bins and notify the appropriate personnel when pickups are required.
· Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
· Complete minor repairs as required.
· Inspect fencing, gates, signage, and equipment and report damage or maintenance concerns.
· Provide courteous and respectful service to community members.
· Immediately report hazards, incidents, injuries, and environmental concerns.
· Maintain daily operational logs.
· Document incidents involving prohibited materials or safety concerns.
· Frequent lifting of up to 50 lbs.
· Standing, walking, bending, lifting, pushing, and pulling throughout the workday.
· Exposure to dust, noise, odors, heavy equipment, and changing weather conditions.
· Occasional evening and weekend work.
Qualifications
· Valid Saskatchewan Class 1A Driver’s Licence.
· Ability to safely perform the physical requirements of the position.
· Reliable, dependable, and punctual.
· Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
· Grade 12 diploma or equivalent.
· Previous experience in waste management, public works, heavy labour, construction, or a related field.
· WHMIS, First Aid/CPR certification or willingness to obtain.
· Knowledge of recycling, waste management, and environmental practices.
